This Privacy Policy covers how Laborjack handles personal information across all platforms where we operate, including our websites, mobile apps, and any other online or offline services. For simplicity, we refer to these collectively as the “Services.” Unless otherwise specified, Laborjack serves as the data controller for any personal information we collect and process. For contact details, please see the “Contact Us” section below.
When you create an account with Laborjack, we collect certain information depending on whether you're signing up as a business or a worker:
We may request your work email, name, company name and address, phone number, and details related to your labor needs — including photos of job sites or equipment, and names of on-site supervisors. We’ll also collect your company’s financial information for billing purposes, as well as other relevant business details to support staffing coordination and audits.
If you’re a residential client inquiring about services or requesting a quote, we may collect personal information such as your name, home address, email address, phone number, and optional details about the work you need completed (e.g., photos, location notes, or preferred scheduling). If you download marketing materials or reach out via email, we may retain the content of your messages, your email address, and our responses. Any personal information collected in this way is protected using the same standards we apply to all user data.
We may collect your name, email, mailing or physical address, phone number, government-issued ID numbers, date of birth, and a photo. To assess your eligibility and match you with jobs, we may request background and professional history, including Social Security number, tax information, employment background, and health information relevant to job requirements. For payment purposes, we or our payment providers collect your financial details (such as bank routing numbers). While we don’t directly store credit or debit card numbers, we may receive billing-related data from our payment partners.
If you’re a Worker, Laborjack collects your clock-in, clock-out, and break times to calculate your shift duration and ensure accurate payment.
If you’re a Worker, we may collect precise location data while you are actively using our Services. This includes verifying your arrival and departure from job sites and tracking your location during shifts. Location data is only collected as part of delivering the Services and with your consent.
We may collect and store audio, video, or transcripts if you participate in calls, messages, or video sessions through our platform. This can include your voice, image, and related content. You’ll be notified if a conversation is being recorded, and by continuing, you consent to the recording. We use this information only for service-related purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.
If you engage with features like reviews, ratings, or messaging within the Services, we or others may collect the personal information you share. While we may offer tools for private or anonymous communication, anything posted through public-facing features (collectively “User Content”) may be visible to others and should be treated as public unless protected by applicable law. Please be cautious when sharing identifiable information.
When you reach out—whether to request support, subscribe to updates, or ask for more information—we may collect your contact details such as your email address, phone number, or mailing address.
Similar to other commercial Web sites, our Web site utilizes a standard technology called "cookies" (see explanation below, "What Are Cookies?") and Web server logs to collect information about how our Web site is used. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our Web site, and the Web sites visited just before and just after our Web site. This information is collected on an aggregate basis. None of this information is associated with you as an individual.
Laborjack and third-party partners (such as analytics providers or advertising services) may use cookies, pixel tags, local storage, and other tracking technologies ("Technologies") to automatically collect certain information when you interact with our Services.
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser that help remember preferences, enhance functionality, and improve your overall experience using our Services.
Pixel tags (also known as web beacons) are small pieces of code embedded in our website or emails that help us track user engagement. For example, they may let us know when a specific page is viewed or when an email is opened or clicked. This helps us understand how users interact with our content and improve the effectiveness of our communications and marketing.
These Technologies allow us to analyze usage patterns, tailor content, and optimize our Services for both performance and relevance. You may manage or disable certain Technologies through your browser or device settings, though doing so may affect your experience.
Your options for managing your personal information depend on applicable laws and the way you interact with Laborjack’s Services. Below are the choices available to you:
If you no longer wish to receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any message. Please note that you will still receive transactional emails related to jobs, account activity, or other service-related matters. We may also send essential non-promotional messages (such as changes to our Terms or Privacy Policy) that you cannot opt out of.
To stop receiving text messages, follow the opt-out instructions provided in the message or contact us directly.
Our mobile app may send you push notifications. You can turn these off by adjusting the notification settings on your device. If you’ve previously given permission for location tracking, you can disable it through your device’s location settings at any time.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings to block or remove certain tracking technologies. However, disabling cookies may impact the functionality of some parts of our Services. Mobile app users can limit interest-based advertising through their device settings (on iOS or Android) or by using third-party tools.
Broadly speaking, we use personal information for purposes of administering our business activities, providing customer service and making available other products and services to our customers and prospective customers.
Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about new services and special offers we think you will find valuable. The lists used to send you product and service offers are developed and managed and designed to safeguard the security and privacy of our customers' personal information. As a customer, you will be given the opportunity to opt out of marketing communications at any time.
To improve the experience for both Workers and Businesses, we may use data-driven tools to recommend jobs to Workers and suggest Workers to Businesses. These recommendations are based on factors like availability, location, and past activity.
We don’t make decisions that significantly impact you based solely on these tools unless it’s required to deliver the Services, you’ve given consent, or the law allows it.
Laborjack may let you refer friends or coworkers to join the platform by sharing their contact info. Only refer people you know personally and have permission to contact.
We may provide aggregate information about our customers, sales, Web site traffic patterns and related Web site information to our affiliates or reputable third parties, but this information will not include personally identifying data, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy.
We may disclose information when legally compelled to do so, in other words, when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights.
We are not responsible for the practices employed by Web sites linked to or from our Web site nor the information or content contained therein.
We use encryption and industry-standard security practices to protect the personal information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction.
While no system is completely secure, we take appropriate steps to safeguard your data and hold our service providers to similar standards.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize the information.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@laborjack.com. We will respond to such requests in accordance with applicable laws.
If you have questions or requests related to this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at support@laborjack.com
